Video Conferencing

Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts proudly announce its capability of conducting videoconferences within its facilities in Kaunas. We are able to offer you our first-class videoconference system from VCON and our modern equipped seminar room with beamer, projector, TV and VCR.

The seminar room has a maximum capacity of 40 persons and would be the perfect location for business negotiations with foreign companies or organizations. Through our worldwide connections and contacts as well as our membership in the Baltic Sea Chamber of Commerce Association we are able to bring businesses quickly and cost-effective together. You will save the expenses for a business trip and time for organising it.

Our partner chambers in this association, like for instance the Chamber of Commerce in Kiel, Germany or the Southern Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Malmö, Sweden are also outfitted with videoconference equipment. Therefore we can enable business negotiations with foreign companies and make use of the business directories of our partner chambers that include thousands of enterprises. We bring businesses together!

Furthermore, our VCON system gives us the possibility to participate or carry out seminars, presentations or conferences by broadcasting them in our seminar room. If you are interested in conducting seminars with us or in presenting investment possibilities in your region to Lithuanian businesses please contact us. We are your competent partners!

VCON

We bring people together

VCON is dedicated to bridging the distances between people, enabling them to work side-by-side, no matter how vast the distance between them. Using state-of-the-art videoconferencing technologies, VCON develops complete solutions that elevate communication throughout organizations.

Our advanced visual communications solutions are designed to save time and enhance collaborative work environments, providing investment protection with a minimal cost of ownership.

VCON develops, manufactures and markets high-performance, multi-functional personal and group videoconferencing systems designed for a variety of communication networks. VCON systems operate in both IP and ISDN environments. Most of our systems provide a dual-mode capability, which enables their use over both IP and ISDN networks. ISDN is a service that allows high speed digital transmission of video, voice and data over regular telephone lines; and IP is the Internet Protocol standard.  We are a leader in the development of technologies that deliver video, voice and data over networks based on the Internet Protocol. Our solutions maximize performance over IP networks and facilitate interactive communication between remote users through two-way and multipoint videoconferencing, the streaming transmission of data and collaborative sharing of computer files. VCON systems are primarily targeted at business, distance learning, government and telemedicine, the delivery of medical services from a physically remote location.

Since early 1997, VCON has understood the need for and opportunities inherent in converging voice, video and data onto a single enterprise-wide IP network, and has created multiple technologies and systems aimed at convergence. VCON is also aware that in many countries, ISDN is the preferred videoconferencing transport.  Therefore, VCON has created standards-compliant systems that fit both the ISDN and IP protocols, and that provide investment protection where an organization is transitioning from one transport to the other.

Server Products

VCON’s server products revolve around the Media Xchange ManagerTM, the centerpiece of VCON’s client/server architecture for rich media networks.  Each product is tightly integrated with the MXM, but also provides a unique solution that addresses a specific organizational need.

From instant messaging and collaboration software, to software based video bridges and videoconferencing clients, VCON’s server products provide a seamlessly integrated experience. VCON’s server products are modular, allowing a video network to grow as the demands of the users grow – and as budget becomes available.

Media Xchange ManagerTM

The Media Xchange ManagerTM (MXM) is an Integrated Rich Media Server comprising the following key elements:

  • Centralized Management and Administration

  • Video Telephony / Video PBX

  • Advanced Rich Media Applications

Now network administrators have an elegant solution with which to manage their rich media network and users have video telephony features such as call-forward, call-transfer, and ad-hoc conferencing.  Whether the network is populated exclusively with VCON product or the network is multi-vendor, the MXM is able to manage and administer services to all videoconferencing systems and devices. Never before has a video network been so easy to manage and has mass deployment of videoconferencing in a large organization been so attainable.

VCON Conferencing Bridge

The VCON Conference Bridge (VCB) is designed to join groups of participants together in a single videoconferencing session.  The VCB fits most conferencing requirements by allowing up to eight participants per session and is versatile in the way it can be configured and used.  The VCB is economical enough to reside in several locations of a distributed organization, with single or dual session VCBs at each office.  For centralized locations, a large, multiple-session VCB provides simultaneous conferences that fit the needs of a more sizeable employee population. The VCB can serve both as a dial-in conferencing bridge and as an ad-hoc conferencing bridge, where multipoint conferencing is as easy as pushing the “invite” button on the display.

  • Continuous presence calls that allow users to see up to 4 participants simultaneously

  • Voice-activated switching calls, where all participants see only the person talking

  • Dial-in conferencing allows simple “meet me here” conferences

  • Simultaneously stream active conferences via integrated multicast feature

  • Gateway connected users can join conferences via ISDN connections

  • Audio add-in support allows users to call from a telephone

The VCB allows users to choose between viewing conferences in continuous presence mode or in voice-activated switching mode.  When in continuous presence mode, the users benefit by being able to see up to four users simultaneously, simulating a conference discussion.  Voice-activated switching mode is optimal for a conference where there is one predominant speaker, or where viewing only the person speaking is preferred.  Both modes can be set up for either dial-in conferences or ad-hoc conferences.

The VCB is an integral part of VCON’s client/server architecture designed around the VCON MXM.  A key function that the MXM provides to the VCB is ad-hoc videoconferences. While some multipoint calls are scheduled in advance, most conferencing needs are ad-hoc.  Inviting a user into an existing videoconference, with just the click of the “invite” button, is a feature unique to VCON endpoints using the VCB.  When two users are in a point-to-point videoconference, one of the users can click their “invite” button, select another participant from the online directory, and seamlessly join them into the call.

More than just another 3D analyzer, it is specially designed to identify the main speakers and distinguish between them and others. Development Tools

VCON has a wide range of tools for developers to use in creating custom applications for specific markets and interests.  These tools can be used to create applications on top of VCON’s hardware videoconferencing products (Escort, Cruiser, ViGO and Monitor boards) or, in conjunction with VCON’s MXM, developers can create software only videoconferencing applications.  Additionally, if a developer wanted to embed a videoconferencing application into a non-traditional device for videoconferencing, like a TV-cable settop box, VCON has a unique set of APIs for that purpose.

The support for developers creating custom applications comes straight from VCON’s product development team, so VCON development tool customers are ensured the highest level of support during the development cycle.

When a custom solution has been developed, VCON does not charge royalties on any of the sales of the custom developed solution.  Additionally, developers can create applications that run over multiple devices – ViGO and Escort and Monitor boards – and the developers will only pay one fee to VCON for the original development kit.
